Attempted Coup by Wagner or Botched Attempted Regime Change by the West?
Did the CIA Just Get Played?
The media has been overflowing with reports of an attempted military coup in Russia, claiming Yevgeny Prigozhin, commander of the private military company Wagner Group, attempted to overthrow the government of President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin managed to eliminate the threat of the supposed coup, but gaps in the mainstream narrative raise questions as to whether this supposed coup was orchestrated by Prigozhin himself, or if it was merely a staged show put on by the Kremlin to weed out foreign operatives in the Russian military.
Videos released on Prigozhin’s Telegram channel have been increasingly odd over the past few weeks. His comments on the Russian Minister of Defense Shoigu have been exceedingly negative, to put it lightly. Prigozhin is clearly unhappy with a certain portion of the Russian elite who he criticizes for not taking the conflict and the lives being lost with appropriate concern. That said, direct criticisms of President Putin himself have been, intelligently, minimal. And with Putin's approval ratings at an overwhelming majority in both his staff in the government and the Russian people, it seems unlikely that Prigozhin would have been able to effectively overthrow the current administration. This is, of course, something he would be acutely aware of.
As it still remains to be seen how the situation is to progress over the next few days, a growing number of theories speculate that Prigozhin may have been used as a pawn in a much larger chess game being played between the Kremlin and Washington. The United States has made no secret of its goal to achieve regime change in the Russian Federation, and the sudden surge of U.S. assistance to Ukraine worth billions of dollars just days before the alleged ‘coup’ suggests that this could have been the result of a covert actions by US government agencies. Putin's speech on the issue alluded to a betrayal and this could easily be a reference to the infiltration of the CIA via Wagner as well as the Ministry of Defense.
What is clear is that Putin understands the power of Russia and the threat it poses to the Western hegemony, and that he has been one step ahead of any attempts to subvert his control. He expanded his military territory with Wagner now in Belarus protecting Lukashenko from a potential US coup. Remember, Putin recently deployed tactical nuclear weapons and missile systems to Belarus, increasing the range of a potential strike further into Europe.
Furthermore, if this theory is correct, the entire scenario has ancient roots, dating all the way back to the late 1940s with Project AERODYNAMIC, ultimately showcasing the collusion between the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and the CIA. It is worth noting that this sequence of events occurs shortly after the Pentagon announced an additional $6 billion was discovered to be available to send to Ukraine due to an ‘accounting error.’ I can’t help but speculate whether a portion of these funds made their way to Wagner if the CIA genuinely believed that Prigozhin would proceed with an attempted coup. Notably, foreignassistance.gov indicates that Ukraine has already received obligations totaling over $10 billion this year alone.
The events of the past few days were, in my opinion, very likely intentionally orchestrated by the Kremlin. The Russian Federation knows its’ history - knows who the players are in the West and what it is they want. This conflict has been going on for much longer than Western media appreciates, and while the Western public is kept conveniently unaware of the nature of their own governments, the rest of the world has picked up it’s pace, finally in a position to attempt to force the world into multipolarity.
